How to find out when the timing belt/chain was changed last time in Toyota Highlander?

There is a timing belt cover and on the top of the cover there should be a sticker that says when it was changed last. If there is no sticker then your only option is to take off the cover and inspect the belt and tensioners yourself, or have a trained proffesional do it. I must worn you that if they pull the cover off they will try to talk you into just replacing it and it might be a good idea since they are already in there and you have paid for the labor. How to find out when the timing belt/chain was changed last time in Toyota Highlander?
Just ask the computer in the car.How to find out when the timing belt/chain was changed last time in Toyota Highlander?
If it was done at a dealer, you can have the VIN checked by any Toyota dealer and they can tell you when it was done. You may be able to find out from carfax, but it would be a little harder. the only other way would be if there was a receipt with the car.How to find out when the timing belt/chain was changed last time in Toyota Highlander?
there is no way to check but if you can get to it try to move the belt or chain what ever it is and if it moves more then the thickness of the belt then its time for a new oneHow to find out when the timing belt/chain was changed last time in Toyota Highlander?
war pig and rotus have good advice.

Only thing to add is if the Toyota Highlander has a timing chain, it doesn't need replacing. Chains are for the life of the vehicle.

It should say in the maintenance schedule if timing belt is a service item.
